Subject: Re: I have a problem
I called DirecTV last night because I'm having this exact problem (I
thought for sure it was my receiver before I called that I put a
heatsink on the processor... no luck though).  After I finally got
through (first couple times, the line was BUSY) the tech said as soon
as he answered, "Let me guess, your receiver is turning itself off and
back on".  So DirecTV is definately aware of the problem.
Unfortunatly, the tech said he didn't know what was causing the
problem, he just guessed it was probably a recent software update and
that they were working on a fix.  He also said he'd credit my account
for the downtime, so I'll follow up with DirecTV on this once the
problem is fixed.

My DirecTV receiver model is Hughes GAEB0A located in the Seattle-metro
area and 89-92% signal quality (100% on the local channel
transponders).
