It has come to my attention that some of our members think that belonging to one specific political party not only makes them right, but it also gives them the right to harass members of another political party. I am not going to call names, but if I have one more member request to be removed from our blogroll because of such behavior ... I will start calling out the offenders or even possibly shutting down Christian Bloggers altogether.
There is no reason for this type of behavior and for all of you who are participating in it, I would suggest you turn off your TVs and stop gorging yourself on the things of this world. Instead, pick up your Bible and actually read what GOD says you should be doing ... not a man-made political party.
Could you be more specific in what you mean by harass? Leaving comments that disagree with the bloggers position? Or saying they aren't Christian because they support a particular party or position?

It is one thing to disagree with someone, it is quite another to nit-pick everything they post and constantly seek to argue with another person. When someone points me to their blog and I see the same couple of members wanting to argue about this or that in about every post another member makes ... I definitely feel that falls under harassment. It makes me want to remind everyone of 2 Timothy 2 (http://biblegateway.com/cgi-bin/bible?language=english&version=NIV&pa...).
But, there have also been comments about who is and is not a "real" Christian based on their political views. They have been outright stated and implied.
We are supposed to be followers of Christ. A follower is someone who follows the teachings and example of another. That kind of posturing and mean-spiritedness is definitely not Christ-like.
Excellent! So true! If you took the same amount of time you invest into watching tv as you do reading the Bible and maybe even on your knees talking to the Maker, you would view life from a whole nother perspective. Try it. I guarantee your gonna love it!
This comment is directed at all of us, including me.
Amen, Angela. Could Christians in the USA please remember that there are Christians outside the USA and that they come from different cultures and histories? We can learn from one another but only if we respect one another and honour (please notice that some of us even spell differently) one another in Christ and for Christ's sake.

I am not one of "those" people you are referring to so I am disturbed at the tone you are taking with the entire blogging list. Perhaps directing your annoyance at the individual(s) is perhaps the more professional manner in which to handle this. As a result of your email, your distribution is sending reply all emails to the group and I happen to be on that distribution. Please remove my email address from your distribtuion: sha...@cfl.rr.com and also feel free to remove your Christian Blogger roll from mine as I wish not to be a part of any "reply all" comments or problems you feel arise with the bloggers. Thank you.
Also, Angela, respectfully I submit to you that while your angle is correct, your manner of approaching leads you down the same path of needlessly judging others via your comment: "I would suggest you turn off your TVs and stop gorging yourself on the things of this world. Instead, pick up your Bible and actually read what GOD says you should be doing".
You see, none of us are perfect and can easily fall into saying things that come across inappropriately.
May God continue to bless you as you endeavor to follow CHRIST and may we all do the same.

With all due respect, the tone of your e-mail would suggest that your comments are a case of the pot calling the kettle black. Your e-mail was as "disturbing" as the original one sent out. And, interestingly enough, as "annoying" as you find these e-mails, how hard is it to hit the delete button? You were inconvenienced for all of five to ten seconds. You likely spent more time composing your complaint e-mail as it did to read all those others.

I apologize if you do not like the way I address repeated issues that arise on Christian Bloggers. I handle things the way I see fit and feel that a professional tone is always preferred, tempered with a little good advice. Which I gave when I advised those behaving in the way I specified to turn off the world (TV & politics) and get into the Word (Bible). It is the very same advice my beloved pastor gives our congregation often and I find it quite fitting when people it is more beneficial to argue than love each other as Christ called for us to do.
I can definitely remove you from the Christian Bloggers blogroll. Of course, it is your responsibility to remove the code from your own site. You can also remove yourself from this list as well, but if you find that too difficult or time consuming I will be happy to do it for you as well.
I would like to remind you though that no one is just added to this list. You are asked if you would like to join. It is a email group so one shouldn't be surprised when they receive emails from it.
