Alaska swimmers at nationals

Alaska has 3 swimmers at the national long course championships in Oregon.
Rick Abbott (50-54) is entered in the 200 IM, 100 free, 50 back, 100
back, and 50 free but is likely to swim only the 50 back and 50 free.
Mike Sorensen (40-44) is entered in the 200 free, 100 fly, 50 fly,
200 fly, and 50 free.

It's Pennock Island time! On Sunday the swimmers will be heading out for the 8.2 mile swim around Pennock Island in Ketchikan. I know that Ken and Shea Winterberger are heading down there for their first attempt at the swim. If you see them be sure to wish them good luck and send them all your good thoughts on Sunday morning!

Bartlett. You can still deck enter, so come on out and join the fun.
Due to the air show, parking will be in the far east lot (by the

Attached is a message from Gary Emich about an open water swimming vacation. I don't know anything about this company, but Gary is one of the Alcatraz Centurions who has swam Alcatraz more than 100 times. I've participated in one race that he directed and it was really well run. Anyway, if you're interested check it out some more. It sounds like a great vacation to me!
