It would probably help if the main page had an 'About' before logging
on (even as guest).  I think you want people to know what it is and
what it does first.

Thanks Ken,

You are certainly right, and we are working on this.
I have come online with app with just the bare essentials, that's
because having your early feedback is just too valuable for us to
postpone the release anymore.

Thanks,
V

I hate to be the one to ask the tough question, but you asked for advice...
What is it about your task management app that sets it apart from the
others? What was missing from apps already out there that made you want to
write your own?

Thanks for asking, Chris :).

I will just list below.

1. speed / responsiveness . I hate waiting for http requests to
perform. GTD is about productivity. If it takes 2 seconds to collect a
task, it's already too much. You don't have to wait at all in
taskwriter. Really :).
Just try it for yourself (filter, add / view / edit a new task). You
will experience (almost) real-time responsiveness. Feel free to come
back to me if it's not happening like that for you.

2. ability to add plenty of information on a task. Usually I end up
writing everything I need to perform a task 'on the task itself'.
'Task data' might (and it usually happens for me ) to include copy-
pasted emails. Of course there are other apps that allow you to add
task notes, but it's rather quick notes then full length data.

I could add more to the list (pure GTD support, offline working mode),
features that we are currently working on, but you could find these
also in other apps (although not all in the same app).

1. WOW! That is fast.
2. I do a lot of note taking by clipping content to Evernote (was OneNote
and text files before that) and the killer feature for me would be something
that combined these collected notes with a task system; hence you notes just
don't do to much for me.  The kind of functionality I'm looking for would be
in a totally different direction from what you're going for...

3. General interface notes:
It would be intuitive to be able to click on the contexts and projects from
their respective tabs and be taken to a filtered task view.
Needs a way to "un-complete" a task (I miss clicked while I was playing with
it).
The icons for inserting the date & lines above the edit area are ambiguous.
Needs due dates (if that's a road you want to go down at all).

V,

I tried to check it out, but there is nothing visible except a login
form.

Not that I necessarily suspect you of anything nefarious, but I
generally keep away from sites/apps that do that - try to make me sign
up prior to me even seeing a description of what it is and does.

Just thought I would feed that back to you.

Thanks!

Jim

Hi Chris,

I can't promise you anything yet on Evernote integration, but I will
certainly put this task on our list of things to investigate.

Thank you for your suggestions, I really like them. I have added these
to you blog, in the roadmap category.

As soon as we finish the implementation for one thing, you will find
it here :

Thanks again,
V

Jim, thank you for your feedback. You are right in what your are
saying, I know you have a correct point. It's just the fact that we
have postpone the task of adding descriptive information in the first
page...We will have it ready in the next few days.

Meanwhile, we have a very simple way to see what things are about.
Just click on the "click to try it as guest" link in the login page,
and that's all. You can simply see and try the application in less
then 2 seconds.

Thanks again for your feedback,
V
