For Today: “Therefore, it seems plain that few of us canquickly or easily become ready to aim at spiritualand moral perfection; we want to settle for onlyas much perfection as will get us by in life, according,of course, to our various and sundry ideas of whatwill get us by. So the difference between ‘the boysand the men’ is the difference between striving fora self-determined objective and for the perfectobjective which is God.” Step Six 12 Steps & 12 Traditions, pg. 68 To me every hour of the day and night is an unspeakable perfect miracle
For Today: “Many will at once ask, ‘How can we accept the entire implication of Step Six? Why – that is perfection!’ This sounds like a hard question, but practically speaking, it isn’t. Only Step One, where we made the 100 percent admission we were powerless over alcohol, can be practiced with absolute perfection. The remaining eleven Steps state perfect ideals. They are goals toward which we look, and the measuring sticks by which we estimate our progress. Seen in this light, Step Six is still difficult, but not at all impossible. The only urgent thing is that we make a beginning, and keep trying.” Step Six12 Steps & 12 Traditions, pg. 68 To me every hour of the day and night is an unspeakable perfect miracle
I was at a meeting the other day and I shared where it says we are entirely ready, there are times i play on words and I work on this step all the time. I am thinking if we are entirely ready why do they still crop up and a co-sponsor pointed out you just have to be wiling 'I have heard that many, many times but the light bulb came on and I thought OK I can deal with that. I'm sure some of you can relate. Everyone have a good evening.

I guess my question would be if god or as for myself my HP would one day take them away , why would they return them the next day , that doesn't make sense to me, also never heard that before and I have been around awhile. also when a part of day sucks I know there is a step that will take care of it IF I am willing

God doesn't give us back our character defects only to retur5n them
We don't want to let entirely go of them
We cant have both a defect free life if we hang onto them
We need to our part
